Indosat Ooredoo, one of the leading telecommunication services providers in Indonesia, has selected Nokia Networks to power its LTE-Advanced network.
As part of the contract, Nokia Networks’ Global Services team is deploying LTE base stations in key cities across the designated regions. The team has also aggregated two carriers in the 900 and 1800 MHz spectrum bands to deliver up to 150 Mbps downlink speed to Indosat’s subscribers in the Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan regions.
Customers can now enjoy a wide range of data-intensive services like multimedia streaming, online games, cloud storage and video conferencing.
As part of the agreement, Nokia will deliver:
- Network planning, optimisation, design and implementation.
- Single RAN advanced radio access including Flexi Multi-radio 10 base stations
- Software aggregation for LTE carriers in the 900 MHz to 1800 MHz spectrum.
- NetAct virtualised OSS for monitoring and optimisation.

Indosat Ooredoo and Nokia Networks share an ongoing business relationship which started with Indonesia’s first 1800 MHz LTE trial and reached new heights with a major mobile broadband deal in 2012. Both companies play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the telecommunications industry in Indonesia.
